Tooth Extractions

There may be a time where it is necessary to perform a tooth extraction. If the extraction is simple, your doctor may choose to do it here at the Cedar Rapids Smile Center. Often times tooth extractions require a referral to a specialized oral surgeon.

Replacing an extracted tooth is often recommended to prevent the neighboring teeth from shifting and causing complications with your bite. Implants are most often the best replacement option, but if spaces are left open long-term, bone can be lost making an implant impossible in some situations. Ask your doctor about what replacement option is best for you.
