Gum Contouring

Gingival or gum tissue sculpting, also known as gingival contouring, is the process of reshaping the gum tissue around the teeth. This dental treatment can help patients whose gums are uneven or cover too much of their teeth, resulting in what is commonly called a “gummy” smile, with teeth appearing smaller than they should.

Gingival sculpting involves a minimally invasive laser procedure to remove and re-sculpt uneven or excessive gum tissue, reinventing your smile as well as improving your oral health.

Local anesthetic is used to numb the gums, and a soft tissue laser is used to gently remove the excess gum tissue. The laser contours and seals the tissue to create the ideal shape, eradicating hollow areas that can trap bacteria, thus preventing future infections.
